History and Origin

The German Rex is believed to have originated in the 1940s when a cat with a naturally curly coat was discovered in a hospital garden in East Germany. This cat, named Lämmchen (meaning “little lamb”), became the foundation for the breed. The German Rex gained recognition in the 1950s and has since been known for its unique appearance and affectionate personality.

Physical Characteristics
